PARK NEWS; Summer 2011
Just some updates from the dog park.
While the number of passes issued this year is down slightly, the quality of people and their participation seems to be up. There is always lots of people at the park and plenty of dogs running around.
We have had two beach days, both were well attended and it seems like all the dogs had a great time. Find a link to some of the pictures of beach day. On both days, Brian (with the two huskies) generously donated a hot dog stand with free hot dogs, soda, coffee and pastries.
Thank you Brian.
We would also like to thank Angela for taking all the photos during beach days that are posted on the web site.
Rumors from the town are; 1) they plan to build restrooms at the park, they are just waiting for final approval from the county. 2) They are considering opening a new dog park someplace around Centereach.
We will be having our Halloween parade and party this year again, so start planning on a great costume for your dog. Watch the park for a sign with the date.
Keep enjoying the park.

A Bill of Rights has been adopted for park patrons. Please click here to go to the web site page and read your rights.
If you haven't updated your pooch pass from last year, you need to do so right away. The old passes are no longer good for access to the park. For those of you that are new to the Middle Island Dog Park, there is a link at the right that will take you to the online form. Just fill it out, print it and take it with your vaccination proof and picture of your pooch to Town Hall at One Independence Hill in Farmingville. It only takes about 10 minutes and your pooch will be able to join our pooches at the park for some summer fun.
You can click here for directions to Town Hall.
The Middle Island Dog Park has a blog. There is a place on the blog for your comments and suggestions. You can click here to go to the blog page.
In pursuing our goals to make communication easier for the patrons of the Middle Island Dog Park, we now have a Yahoo group. The group was set up so we could communicate, plan, and pursue our goal, a healthy, safe and fun place for our dogs and ourselves. If you would like to take an active part in helping the park, the animals and the patrons, please join our group.
